Smile C80 Raymarine radar

I installed a full Raymarine electronic on my boat few years ago ( C80+ ST60 Wind + Sounder + GPS + Repeater and radar entenna to 16 nm ) All is working perfectly unless my radar ! It's quasi blind over 2 nm !
I spent lot of time to try to find echo for big tanker or coast located about 2 nm from us but I was never able to see it on screen ...

I tried to set lot of parameters manually instead of Auto ... I can see antenna turning well on screen but no satisfying results ... I'm very desapointed ...

Finaly I don't run my C80 ... ! I use charts plotting on my PC ... more easy than the C80 so strong touches !

If some one can help me it will be nice !

Friendly yours,

Re: C80 Raymarine radar

As I understand it, you can see targets on the radar at less than 2 NM but none at more than 2 NM. Is it possible that you don't have the range set properly. The range while on a chart plotter page is not the same as when you switch to a radar page. The range is set separately. Set the range to 1 NM rings and see if you can see past 2 NM.
