C-Map and Windows 7

After initial installation C-Map ran fine under Windows 7 on my new Acer laptop.
However after some months C-Map would not open anymore.
Another cruiser had the same trouble on his new Acer laptop.
Browsing through the forum I found the fix.

When Administrator in the Compatibility Tab of Cmap.exe properties was ticked the program started up ok again.

RE: Maxsea in Windows 7

Hi,

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind describing your Maxsea settings a bit more. I've no problem running Maxsea 10.1.3.2 in Windows 7 but I have had no success getting Maxsea to load the CM93 charts.

I have changed compatibility settings trying Maxsea.exe in windows XP mode, then tried changing all associated application files to XP mode. I've also tried with none of these changes (Windows 7 mode). The previous 3 variations were tried with "C-map Access.exe" in administrator mode and in XP mode. (I don't have CMap.exe in my file set).

My questions would be:

What other .exe files have you switched the compatibility mode on?

Do you mean "C-map Access.exe" when you say Cmap.exe? If not perhaps I should be looking for a different download source?

Thanks in advance.
