Re: Boreoscope / Inspection Camera... Recommendations?

For prop and underwater inspection I bought a Vanxse Underwater Fishing Camera
and paired it with a cigarette lighter plug and cheap automobile backup camera 7" video screen.
I can attach the cam to a boat hook with duct tape and see anything beneath the boat.

I also have a boroscope for in-boat inspection behind bulkheads, under the cabin sole, etc. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Both work well.

Just found the YPC (ANWA) unit here in the US. $15.73 for the 10m length. Comes in several different lengths. Focal length is an issue as the best resolution is from about 6" away.

Can't imagine why you'd want something (for close inspection) that long on a boat, unless you need it to look inside a spar.

Re: Boreoscope / Inspection Camera... Recommendations?

May sound cheap, but ive got a usb LED micro camera, which has a 6mt wire. It cost 9 euros. I tape it to my boathook and i do all the inspection of the hull, and much more...ive had it for 3 years....

Re: Boreoscope / Inspection Camera... Recommendations?

Thanks for all the feedback.

My takeaway from this is... don't get the Milwaukee 9' camera, get a cheaper USB camera that attaches to the phone and give that a try first.

Sounds good. I want one. Do you recall the brand, model or source?

Go to TMart.com and search for this:

I ordered one. It was an unbeatable price ($13) and it was free shipping from China. Seems too good to be true, but I thought of giving it a shot based on your recommendation... I'll post when I receive it and test it...
