BMV-702 to NMEA2000 interface

I just finished installing the Victron BMV-702 battery monitor. The docs said that this unit was usable with a iPhone app - but they didn't say that it would cost another $50 for the damn Bluetooth dongle required to make that work!

While looking for the dongle I noticed that there is also a cable for connecting the BMV to the NMEA2000 interface. That would be ideal, but I'm not clear on what would be needed on the other end. I've got the B&G Zeus system.

Has anyone interfaced your battery monitor into the NMEA2000 network?

The Victron units speak a simple but proprietary protocol over TTY if I remember correctly. I have one of those units and have successfully connected it to an Arduino, that does the conversion to Nmea2000.

So it's possible, but not out-of-the-box.

the B&G should probably show battery voltage and current. I don't know if it would have a data box for SOC. you'd have to look through the data box list.
