Two things I wanted to add:
1) Simple photo
uploading/blogging: Windows Live is one of a number of offline blog post editors that allow you to write your post, format your pictures and then upload the post (including the pictures) in one click rather than uploading the pics first and then finding the links or resizing. It will resize, crop and do a few basic color mods. I know there are others but this is the one I use and am familiar with.
2) SSB-to-blog: Last time I looked you had to have a paid account to email-to-blog (SSB) on Sailblogs and it is a free feature in Blogger (and I believe Wordpress). Sailblogs seems to have cooler mapping features (although I haven't looked into those extensively).
