Blind accessible electronics.

My wife is blind. We both enjoy boating. At home she has full access to anything you and I can do in a computer thanks to the software she uses (Jaws) that speaks everything that is on the screen, although she doesn’t use a monitor. She is a real wiz at numbers and can spin circles around most people on Excel. Thanks to Apple she is also able to freely use an iPhone thanks to the voice over feature. But when it comes to boating she is literally blind to all marine electronics. It would seem to me that with NMEA 2000 one should be able to interface some hardware that would speak the prior formation similar to how Jaws works on her computer at home. Any info or pointing me in the right direction would be huge!
