Re: Best Waterproof IPad Case?

I just looked at the Otterbox and Lifeproof. Booth add a LOT of bulk but the Lifeproof says it can go up to 10' below water.

Currently I am using the iHome Origami case and love it but far from water anything.

Re: Best Waterproof IPad Case?

I've been using this one from Moxiware. Pad is well protected from water and shock. It is easy to open and close the case for quick removals. The only negatives I have for this case are that you can't get at the buttons, and the external jacks, which is why I am considering an upgrade to their heavier version for the coming season.

This Overboard brand case says it will also float. Probably a good feature, considering...

Lifeproof is a great case. Practical Sailor judged them best - and we love ours.

HOWEVER, their "customer service" uses the definition of "service: what a bull does to a cow". It is about the worst there is. It took me about a month to get a defective iPhone case that ARRIVED defective, replaced. AND, they made me pay to send it back (with a tracking number).

Been using a zip lock bag for years. Very thin, quick removal, lightweight, floats & affordable.

I thought that I was the only one using the zip lock bag. It works great except for glare when not under the bimini. The zip lock also has the advantage of allowing the ipad to snap into a conventional clamp on holder/mount.

Safest way to ensure protection is to buy Apple's insurance plan. It covers water intrusion and corrosion and then leave it in the cabin.

Re: Best Waterproof IPad Case?

Hah at ziplock bag, I guess that works.

There are two waterproof iPad case that are popular, Overboard and Lifeproof. Overboard is more of a waterproof bag, which makes the cost low. The Lifeproof is more known and fits on the iPad like a case, it does cost quite a bit. It really depends on your preference.

Found this article which compares a few best waterproof iPad cases:

Re: Best Waterproof IPad Case?

I have used a Lifeproof case for several years now. It's on my iPad 24/7. Great case, and worth the price. However, I do need to say that their customer "service" is defined as what a bull does to a cow. It's really, really bad.

Lifeproof here too. They do make a life jacket for it but I don't own it. I think Bstreep is being too kind about their support. I have yet to get an answer!

Absolutely life proof case. It's not just the fact it's waterproof, it's mil spec shockproof as well. My boys abuse the heck out of mine and it just keeps going.

Re: Best Waterproof IPad Case?

I found this expensive French case (ITabNav) that allows charging while totally emerged in water. The YouTube video has some critiques though. Is charging really necessary while out in the weather?

Are there other good cases that allow charging while maintaining protection?
