BandG Transducer Thru-hulls valve issues

I just installed two BandG transducers in my boat. They have valves to reduce the water inflow when switching out the blanks with the transducers. However, in both of the thru-hulls, when I pull out the blank or transducer I get a spurt of water about 10 inches high and much more water coming through than I had with my Raymarine thru-hull. I can see the valve coming up, but it is just letting a bunch of water squirt through around the edges of it. Has anyone seen this and is there something I can do without hauling the boat again?

Re: BandG Transducer Thru-hulls valve issues

Can you get the transducer in place, blocking the water flow, with that spout of water coming in? If not, yes, it's pull it again. I learned the hard way to check my two seacocks and one transducer while the boat is hanging in the sling on its way into the water, so it's just "Raise it back up, Tony" if something leaks.

Re: BandG Transducer Thru-hulls valve issues

I have no problem switching out the blanks for the transducers, once everything is screwed down, there is no leak. The issue is the amount of water that is passing the flap inside the thru-hull during the switch. I would think the flap would reduce the water coming in much more. When I had a Raymarine fitting in exactly the same place, I did not get a fountain, just a dribble of water that came through while doing the switch.
