B&G Windvane Issue

I have recently had issues regarding the current B&G windvane model. It seems to work fine, and then the moment I sail through rain the apparent and true wind speeds jump up to wild numbers, such as 80-300 knots. It has been replaced once already under warranty, and B&G recognizes the problems and says that they can't determine which models have the problem and which don't. So I guess I just have to keep replacing it until I get one that works. Also, there was a ton of water in my previous unit, which leads me to believe there may be some fault in the design, however it is practically identical to the 15 year old windvane from B&G that I replaced it with.

Has anyone else with a newer B&G setup experienced this? The true and apparent wind speeds go wild but the wind direction stays accurate.
