Autopilots ?

I am interested in a simrad AP 22. ..new to this site looking for help to acquire A P drive unit, hydraulic or linear ? I have heard linear uses less
electric. this equipment will go on 43 ft sailboat. thanks in advance jim

My friend Phil on S/V toslo had one on his 50 ft sailboat and certainly was pleased with the performance.

My swan has a neco with strong electric motor. I also have a robertson but would like to try a new one.

My only experience is with the Alpha 3000... and it's more than 2 decades of excellent service.

Thank you, Do you know if I could use the compass already on the Swan to talk to the Alpha system ?
