Autopilot Control

I've like to learn how to control my autopilot using my chartplotter...

I have a Nexus autopilot which is connected to the Nexus Instrument server (using the Nexus Network), which is connected to an actisense NMEA 183 to 2000 converter and in turn connected to my Lowrance HDS 8 chartplotter. I'm not sure which NMEA sentences are needed, which ones my autopilot listens for and what the chartplotter should send. Hopefully they can make their way through the circuitous route to get there.
