Auto helm 7000

I have a Autohelm 7000 that I would like to control through a B and G Zeus 12
Is there any way to accomplish this?

Re: Auto helm 7000

Hi
I had the same question when I upgraded to B&G Triton instruments, using N2K and Shipmodul Multiplexor3 Wifi
Answer I got was for a Chartplotter or stand alone GPS to communicate with the Raymarine AP ST7000, we need minimum input and output NMEA0183 from both the ST7000 and the relevant B&G instrument. The ST7000 only communicate via older Raymarine Seatalk network (not NG)
In short, I was told to ditch the Autopilot ST7000 for a newer unit that could communicate on NMEA0183 as minimum comms or go back to an older Raymarine Chartplotter C80 or similar family ( read older Seatalk network) to drive that older ST7000 autopilot
Let me know how you get along as I am still using my refurbished ST7000

Re: Auto helm 7000

if the pilot is only seatalk. then get a raymarine seatalk to seatalkNG converter and hook it up to your nmea 2000 backbone. I have controlled many raymarine pilots this way from both b&G and newer raymarine screens. you should get heading and rudder pos on your screen too.

and by control I mean it will go to waypoints and routes on your plotter. the auto / standby and nav mode is still only controlled by the pilot screen.

you'd need a new pilot to have full control from the plotter.

Thanks for the info; I guess looking at the splicing required between the Seatalk and NMEA2000 converter, it can be why sales people prefer to sell you a newer system
