Anyone find decently pleasant piezo buzzer?

Or similar alarm that can serve as a chartplotter tone? I'm looking for more of a chirp or bell sound, less of a siren, doorbell or 'European ambulance' sound. Loud, but not TOO loud. (90ish db maybe). What do you use?

How about the low battery indicator, from a smoke detector?

Re: Anyone find decently pleasant piezo buzzer?

I installed two of these last year (one for MFD, second for AIS/anchor watch unit):

Alarm Buzzer: Velleman SV2. 12 VDC, 15mA, 85dB @2.8kHz. Op voltage 4-14 VDC.

Happy so far. Loud enough (they are at Nav station panel). A small note - I put switches on them so I could turn them off as well. Better for the off-watch sleepers...

Alarm switch: Philmore P/N 30-16605. SPST ON-OFF.

The two fit nicely in a small mini-panel.

Thanks! I'll give that a try, and the switch is a good idea too.

Re: Anyone find decently pleasant piezo buzzer?

When building an electronic project that needs a piezo buzzer, I usually add a series resistor. Value picked depends on how much attenuation I want.

Back in the '80's I used the door/ignition chime from a Ford Crown Victoria of that vintage for a bilge pump alarm.
A lot easier to listen to, as it just went diinnggg diinnggg.

Re: Anyone find decently pleasant piezo buzzer?

I use a Floyd Bell MB-09-530-Q(M)D.
Check out their website-- https://www.floydbell.com/

They offer a wide variety of tone types from beeps, warbles, and chimes to a recorded voice announcement(!) with a variety of loudness options (68dB to 109dB). Sample tones are provided on the website....

You might be better of with this buzzer which feature a touch built-in silencer.
