AM / FM Radio

First off hello to everyone,
Just a question in regards to listening to local radio music wether it be
Gold coast , Melbourne or local radio overseas when I am at those locations on my boat
What type of radio ,aerial and antenna do or can I have
How far off shore can I still pick up local stations
I need info for picking up local stations from the furthest point I can
For example on gold coast station 105.7 how far off shore can I go
And still have perfect reception what do I need
