Alpha 3000 Autopilot Parts Needed

My electric motor on my ancient Alpha 3000 needs brushes. I contacted Chris at Alpha and he said that Pittman stopped making the motor and parts for it 18 years ago and I contacted Pittman and they couldn't even find a diagram for the brushes. I think that it's all it needs is brushes. Does anyone have any brushes for the old 3000 electric motor or want to sell their electric motor if it's working? I'm a solo sailor and am sitting in St. Martin looking for brushes. I can't really sail without my auto pilot. I'm trying to make a new set of brushes from the parts I have, but I don't think that they will be very dependable. I'm also missing a tiny part that goes on the spring. Open to suggestion. My motor is from 1987. The new motors don't fit in the old ram unit.

Re: Alpha 3000 Autopilot Parts Needed

Hi Lee;
I'm in Tortola at penn's Landing. I have a 1996 alpha 3000. Put new brushes in my motor and also have a new motor in stock. I have never been able to get pilot to work properly yet. All components work but it does not track properly.

Are you interested in Joint venture I can give you my rebuilt motor if you help me with autopilot.

I arrive on nov 15 2011. Call for rick at 284 495 1134
