I think it looks hot. However, it also is another display and in my experience it is often the displays that go bad first. I am sure that the iPad display will last longer... or not and then I buy a new iPad but the black box AIS is still fine.
The primary display to use is the chart plotter. This is where we also get radar
and I want radar
+ AIS targets on one screen which a dedicated AIS can't do, so I'll probably use the NMEA
output all the time and open an iPad for quick looks or while at anchor
I need to study alarms on NMEA2000 better. Maretron displays and alarm unit do this but is it a standard and do other manufacturers integrate with that? More work for me
