airmar p79 with st60 head

Just picked up our transducer which is said to be compatible with the st60 head but the connection looks nothing like the three spade connectors on the back of the raymarine st. The connection for the transducer is some sort of barrel connector. Anyone have advice?

Re: airmar p79 with st60 head

The p79 comes in many different flavors.

You have to get the raymarine flavor... And there is one specific to the st40/60 head units.

However, if you contact Airmar, they may be able to provide a conversion cable to make the connection. they have a vast array of conversion cables...

PS: This is the one you want.

I just got this from defender after buying an ST40 head unit on ebay. It's the correct 3 spade connector out of the box.

there may also be a way to splice the wires. But, someone else will have to direct you on that one Good luck...
