$99 Windows PC

I'm an Apple guy but I might get one of these for backup and Windows stuff.

Cell phone size, battery powered, Windows 10 PC. HDMI cable plugs into TV. USB keyboard, mouse. Wifi. 32GB storage expandable by MicroSD card.

Not a recommendation as I know nothing more than is in this link.

Not to bad of a portable pc. I'm only worried with a 1.44 processor and only 2 gb memmory. Not a machine to load up with processes but to do a few minimal things and (edit of to if) if you can power it off of 12v be a great little machine just seal the board to survive the salt air.

Re: $99 Windows PC

I purchased a similar device, but in an eight inch tablet format. Works great, BUT ...
Small format is very difficult to use Windows on. Even Win 10 needs a 10 inch format to be usable, and 12 inch makes a huge difference. The 8 inch unit is little more than a toy IMHO, and I am planning to just give mine to a needy family here in Mexico.

Re: $99 Windows PC

I bought something like the Kangaroo. Vensimile iPC002 Wintel. I use it for a music server with my TV as the output, bluetooth mini-keyboard/mousepad for the input, and 32GB USB stick with my music.Works just fine. I run Mediamonkey with MonkeyMote and can control it with my iPad or phone through my router.
I think it would also work well as the brains for a remote monitoring system.

Re: $99 Windows PC

wow! Just needs some kind of low energy monitor.

Downside will be loading virus protection to protect Windows. Or go "naked" and keep it off the web.

I don't know about sailing the board as that will affect operating temps. For $99 somewhat of a disposable device.

Power adapter ends 12v dc to the unit so it should run off a boat with a 12v-12v adapter. Anyone see a max voltage?
