2 Icom SSB on a single AT 130 tuner?

I have a Icom 710 and a IC 718 and want to use both on the same antenna. I have a switch for the antenna but not sure how to set up the control for the tuner. I originally thought I could just split the control cable and plug into each radio but found when I turned one radio on the power from the tuner control powered up the other radio, not something I think is a good idea. I could add a switch to control the tuner power but thought I would see if any of the radio heads or Elmer's here had any tricky ideas. I do not think I am the only one to try this?

I used a 4PDT switch to route the control signals. Works fine. Mounted un a little project/junction box.

Re: 2 Icom SSB on a single AT 130 tuner?

Splitting the cable sounds like a bad idea. Depending on how the HF stage is set up on the powered off unit, you could easily end up feeding a lot of the power from the transmitting station into the turned off receiver of the other unit, which has a high probability of frying the sensitive receiver circuitry.

Use a switch.

Thanks that is what I thought but never hurts to ask. I just ordered a switch that should do the job.
