My mast was recently taken off and the guys in the yard did not make a note of the wiring for the wind unit. Does anyone have a note of how the wiring should be? I have 9 wires on the mast and 8 in use on the cable going to the display. Spent two days trying to get it sorted out and still no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated in a manual for these 1980's units or your own notes.

I have a book for a VDO Logic Wind and one for a VDO Logic Log left. To post them I need an address or an email address to send wiring diagrams. They are from a system which has been replaced and I am just about to throw everything out.

I had to make a workshop cable (for testing a Logic Wind bought in 1997) to connect the masthead unit to the instrument. For your info below pin-out info for the masthead connector. The pin numbers are visible next to the pins, with some difficulty...
The connector has 7 pins but the central one is not connected. Cable colors are the same between the actual masthead sensor and its connector and the cable between the top of the mast and the instrument.
1 red
2 gray
3 green
4 blue
5 yellow
6 white

As I could not find a connector matching the one on the masthead unit I split a 6 pole female PCI connector from a computer power system into 6 individual connectors.

using the 6-channel terminal board:
Terminal 1 red and pink
Terminal 2 brown
Terminal 3 grey
Terminal 4 yellow

Hi, found this old thread about VDO windinstrumets, mine is working fine but wind wirection gauge shows 180 degrees wrong. If there is easy way to fix this. Does someone know wire colors that are affecting this symptom. Hopefuly some one can help.

I don't think there's enough information on that diagram to answer jtyyska's question. It shows the wire colours but does not identify them

Im also searching for a used vdo mast transducer mid 80s. Fried wind
Speed board direction still works.told it is unfixable . Has anyone got one to sell
