Congrats on getting a sunny day to paint. I've got to look out for a floor and deck paint in hot pink for my top sides. That chalk white look is just not doing it for me anymore. Maybe Sears weather beater....
Well I moved the boat today as the anchorage I was in was going to be a bit bouncy today, again. So had a delightful 10 mile sail under working jib alone. doing 4.5 kts DDW to 6.2 kts on the beam. Lovely lovely day.
Nice flat water..ahhh. Ya'll have fun today.

It is good theory. Except. You cannot put mods on ignore. The bad news, for us, is that we cannot put ANYBODY on ignore. Now you may feel some sympathy for us I know.
Cheers,
Coops.

I'm sorry I can't read your post I had to put you on my ignore list . It's too bad too I enjoyed your posts but it had to be done to keep from getting warning messages about content.

I was going to tell you that I found that money that you lost, but as you will not see the message I will keep it and put it to good use.

Re: Your Ignore List
How does the ignore list work? (Don't really want to read +250 posts to find out).
Does it ignore the individual or the whole thread?
If the individual, don't you miss the context of the thread conversation if they post?
I always keep my toes outside the door if someone disagrees with me or questions my attitude. Geez....I question it all the time... since I do like to stir the pot sometimes....
But ignorance is not bliss....it's... Nothing!

TO add someone to your ignore list, put the mouse arrow (assuming windows) over the persons CF user name (over their photo), then Left mouse click. That opens a box with options, At the bottom is add person to your ignore list. Click that and you will no longer see their posts Which can make the thread a bit disjointed.

Re: Your Ignore List
I dont think the ignore feature makes a thread disjointed at all... The mental pygmies I have on ignore are fairly widely despised by many, and their inane ravings very seldom quoted, or indeed, relevant in the first place.
I did get one memorable thread where two were obviously clashing their limited IQ point and the whole thread was blank
Sometimes I check a post to see if the member has grown a brain... But usually not. The only exceptions seem to be where some dill with a history of stupid posts finally buys a boat. Suddenly they become readable. I wonder why? Theres nothing like the challenges of owning a boat that cuts the forum crap: Its hard to pontificate when the Head is blocked!

I think the differences make the threads more interesting and fun. Someone thinking outside the box may come up with just the answer you need.

If you ignore someone & others argue with them, doesn't it seem like they are just arguing alone? LOL. I guess you can see them quote the one you ignore.

A lot of wild assumptions in that post. Any person that you have on ignore is a mental pygmy? They are widely despised by others, you know this because? Inane ravings? You do not "get them' therefore they do not count? A member may have grown a brain? All this seems as if there is no open mind here. Shame that you feel the need to heap such scorn on other members,
Coops.

I have been almost the opposite lately where I put people on the list who just recently were posting all the usual "what boat" questions, yet now suddenly knows so much that they are posting great wisdom.

Re: Your Ignore List
... So a sailor and her cat walk into the paint department looking for YawlGrip ...
An idea I just had was adding a window under the post counter showing how many Ignore Lists a poster is on. That might provide quite a bit of feedback for ah ... er ... some of us.
The post counter itself is puzzling to me and I wonder what assumptions are made about it. I got completely turned off by a guy on Sailnet who had 25 THOUSAND posts in three years! That's like 23 posts per day! One cannot read SN without encountering him. He is a very savvy dude, no question, but geez.
