Re: your Ignore list
Hiya Krogen! I agree with your post. A few, on here, think that disciplines such as Engineering and Medicine are irrelevant to boaters. Some are talented craftsmen but have total disregard to advanced knowledge, if it contradicts with what they know and perform. They will viciously attack your opinion, as they feel threatened; I just let it go by not replying to their attacks. I'm not here to explain an advanced engineering concept or the mode of action of a drug that took me years of studies to master. I'll give you the summary of it. If my opinion is not good enough, search it yourself but don't be disrespectful. Agree or disagree, I hope that we remain friends.

Re: your Ignore list
Krogen, if you feel that you are being insulted or attacked then click the report button and your complaint will be dealt with by the mods. We cannot and do not read every post and so rely on others sometimes to help us out. All reports are investigated and decisions are made on the nature of the post, not the member's name or post count. What we do not want is for you or anybody else to respond in a like manner to the offending post and thus escalate the whole thing.
This applies to everybody by the way, not just singling you out in case you were thinking that.
Coops.

Re: your Ignore list
I have 21 on my Ignore list (I am probably on many more peoples Ignore list.)
Often times they are people who dont stay on the forum for long. Sprewk their BS till they get found out too often and they drift off to another forum.
Others its the tedious posts.
But theres formatics irritators too... one that keeps quoting whole posts when replying, so I stuck them on Ignore and I find my blood pressure lower.
I certainly recommend it as a great tool.
Also recommend the Ignore Thread tool. Sometimes when a thread goes silly I find it much easier to just put it on Ignore.
That being said I strongly and vehemently think strong and vehement discussion is necessary on a forum!

Re: your Ignore list
I have 84 on my ignore list.
Interestingly, not a single one of you who have replied to this this thread so far are on it.

Re: your Ignore list
I think it would be fun to find out how many people have me on ignore. Not who they are, but how many.

Re: your Ignore list
As for me, I have never put any one or any thread on the ignore list, but I have no difficulty in personally ignoring things I find unrewarding or offensive. Who needs a formal mechanism to perform this simple act?
Cheers,
Jim

You have a Takacat dinghy, so could never ignore you.

Re: your Ignore list
I had two on mine at one point, now they're both on the friends list. Life is short... who needs the stress.
My wife realizes that I know most everything, but she told me that it just pisses people off the way I put it in writing and the way I say things.

Re: your Ignore list
Just saw the video, wow that is a neat deal! I do wonder about the the abrasion resistance when beaching on a coral or gravel beach.

Re: your Ignore list
I don't have anyone on ignore. Seems like most folks have something meaningful to say at least once in awhile if not all the time. Sometimes posters may be way off but other times they might just nail a problem and that's when I enjoy their responses in the threads.
I can tell if someone has me on ignore because they'll repeat the very same solution that I gave a couple threads earlier.
