Well,
Keel Me,
My boat is strip planked western red cedar, but being
epoxy and glass coated in and out doesn't meet your definition. But, being of nature's carbon fiber, I still think she is a timber boat. Of course not planked and no help--our friends had a timber boat lose the garboard plank on one of them--and it was a very sad store.
I do think good timber boats can be made and maintained.....and far longer than grp, for that matter.
But no, don't count us among your timber cruising boats. Our nautical mileage is irrelevant, because much of it was in a grp boat.
