Winter Storm a brewin'

The National Weather Service has issued a storm warming for Thursday and Friday here in the Great Lakes, including storm force winds to 55kts and occasional waves to 33 feet. Time for me to dust off the tripod and try to capture another epic photo like this one I took a few years ago during such a storm on Lake Michigan:

The storm is here in Nebraska, headed your way. 50 mph winds in the morning. We need the moisture. Hope it dumps ten feet of snow.

Back home in Kansas from the boat & it's a blizzard outside, it sucks. Already got more snow than all of last year. Oh well another 10 weeks & it'll be time to head back to the boat.

Not sure why you folks are worried.... here in the eastern Sierras we are expecting up to 5 feet of snow, white out conditions Friday through Sunday, winds on the crest from 95 to 100 MPH according to NWS forecasts. Certainly wouldn't want to be afloat in either situation... Phil

Sure glad we are spending winter in Crete instead of the Great Lakes! 18C (64F) and sunshine is forecast for Christmas Day .

PS Great photo SVHannabel!
