Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

My YouTube favorites:
Others I enjoy in no particular order (some dormant now?)
  • Gone with the Wynns
  • Shaun & Julia Sailing
  • Monday Never
  • Team Giddyup
  • Annie Ford
  • Chasing Bubbles
  • Cruising Off Duty

Some others I liked less or haven't gotten to;
SV Delos, Chase the Story, s/v Prism, The Sailing Family, Wicked Salty, Sail Life, Follow the Boat, Sailing Nervous, Sailing Baby Blue, S/V Catching Rays, White Spot Pirates, Miss Lone Star Travels, Adventure Adrift, Cruising LeaLea, Rick Moore/Sailing Sophisticated Lady, Jessica and Ryan Adventures, Tula's Endless Summer, Christian Williams, Landi Boats, Seadog Cooper, Guazutembo.

If you're looking for other ways to get your sailing fix while your boat is covered in snow...

Nautical Dream is another new one. Owners have a 44 Morgan if I remember correctly. Younger couple with a dog.

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

We love s/v prism for lots of reasons, especially their quality of production, selfless portrayals, detail about where they are and as much about non-sailing as the sailing life itself. They are so down to earth and engaging that we hope to someday meet up with the two of them in a distant land. I could go on and on. Comparing to many of the popular ones listed that we have seen they really stand out as fun, real people modestly showing their life on the water. Others seem to be glitzy and vain, with horrid music. Thumbs way up for Jon and Shannon!

I like "Untie the Lines" also. This girl took this boat from a mess on the hard to her home...on a tight budget, and in foreign lands.

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

As cruiser forum is for me the 'governing body' of cruising (apart from the odd charter everything I know about cruising comes from cf) we may need to put down some rules about vlogers and nakedness I'm not saying we should require some one to be naked that's a personal choice more we should require some not to be naked... Ever!

Moving on, my fevourate vlogers:-
Follow the boat...
Delos
La vagabonde
Seeker
White spot
Uma

All in jest... Merry Christmas to all on CF and my fevourate vlogers

Sailing Doodles is a new one I've found on You Tube that's pretty good. Two young novices who just sailed to the Bahamas. Plus, the guy, Bob, kind of looks and sounds like a young Dennis Miller, which gives his narration a funny edge. They have two dogs with them. But, you could learn a lot, watching them learn.

Agreed. Just found Sailing Doodles in the past few days and I like it too. Though the two labradoodles, Maverick & Goose, are my favorite feature of the videos! And you didn't mention Megan...

Yes, it certainly doesn't hurt that Megan is quite cute.

I'm a fan of these as well. It's an emotional journey with genuine highs and lows that one experiences with her as one does with a character in a good movie. Quite different from the happy-all-the-time, never-a-dull-moment portrayals.

But it's not a movie. She's a real person searching for something that, one surmises, only considerable solitude and the overcoming of personal limits and fears will allow her to find.

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

For me Delos is still the best by a wide margin. I think for me it's their destinations, production standards and of course the group dynamics you get from a larger group as opposed to a couple, which most of the other offerings have.

Winded Voyage Youtube Channel is also great and more in my demographic than most others. Alex is on CF as well, but not sure how active.

While not a vlog, we also do post videos from sailing in the Baltic every now and then, if anyone's interested in this area: here
