Thanks for the kind words!

At cruiser's happy hours they say nobody has ever run aground... then one person admits it, and still nobody else has run aground. Two people admit it then everybody has a story about running aground... we have no shame in admitting our mistakes in the hopes that someone else can learn from them!

We'll try to stay safe and sail on!

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

Hahaha - I love the moment when you ask "where are we" and then it takes like 10 seconds for the crew to recall the name of the place! I can only imagine the party last night was oufffffff!!!!! ;-)))))

Indeed, as someone noted - invest some time in sound editing. If your cam does not have an external mic with furrrrrr etui, then you can record to another device and then join the video and sound.

If you care for good sound, then Sony videoclip cam is great choice BUT it is not waterproof. I am also not sure how good IS it has.

I will be back when I watch some more.

Happy cruising!

I watch several, when I can - but two that I follow religiously are Adventures of an old Seadog and Sail Life.

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

We've been following a few in the lead up to getting our boat.
Have always liked White Spot Pirates - my wife enjoys seeing a solo female sailor doing so well for herself ( https://www.youtube.com/whitespotpirates )
Also enjoy Sailing Nandji as they seem like a nice young couple ( https://www.youtube.com/sailingnandji )
A new one we have started watching is Chuffed Adventures, interesting spin as the lady on board is a veterinarian so they do local animal work as well ( https://www.youtube.com/vettails )
Sailing Uma shows how they do things, good for a new boat owner ( https://www.youtube.com/sailinguma )
Lucky fish gets away is also a bit different! ( https://www.youtube.com/luckyfishgetsaway )

One of the very few video bloggers that I can watch and really enjoy is Sailing Catalpa, a family out of Australia. A very nice family, no "acting" or BS and just a great bunch of people.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXE...-hCbtqwC8RXwtg

I also like Drake Paragon.

From all indications she is living her dream. Perhaps I am missing something.

Re: Who are your favourite boat bloggers / vloggers?

Another good one, we've found and watch, is Tulu's Endless Summer.

http://tulasendlesssummer.com/

Two young kids who live and cruise on a small trawler they bought and fixed up. They just crossed over to the Bahamas on their latest trip.

We're in boat repair mode and not scheduled to head back over until later this year. Watching these videos keep us going until then.

The younger generation just knows so much more about audio visual mediums and electronics than we do. I would love to document our cruising trips as well as they do, but I confess I just seem to stay behind the curve.

We bought a Go Pro before our last trip, and I ended up giving it to our daughter. Maybe we will take another stab at it this trip.

These you tube vloggers are making the videos I wish I could make of our experiences. I appreciate them for that and that so many of them have figured out, one way or the other, to actually do what many of us only dreamed about doing at their ages.

I guess a little jealousy by some people is unavoidable (it's hard not to be, especially if you have been some what unsuccessful in fulfilling your own cruising dreams) . But, I admire all of these kids. A lot of them are going to be the Pardeys, Roths, Chiles, Streets, Moitessiers etc. of the new generation.

And I think a lot of them are in it for the money. Once you see what one gets and think you can earn the same whilst not working and just sailing (occasionally) it looks an easy route. Good look to them but the worlds greatest sailors they will never be... that takes far more than a camera and bikini.
