I don't watch videos about storms at sea and sinking ships/sailboats.

I don't want to have those images in my mind when I am in a storm offshore. Sailing in bad weather is enough of a challenge without having the hobgoblins of the "Perfect Storm" running amok in my mind.

It's a bit difficult to film your vessel when you've abandoned it. I wouldn't use Youtube results to make your claim. A case of correlation does not equal causation

There is no 'law' even requiring a captain to be last off.

MySaintedMother, who went to Fiddler's Green at the very time tubby, fin-keeled, spade- ruddered boats became all the rage, viewed them with a very jaundiced eye and said: "Boats are s'posed to sail THROUGH the water, not ON the water". The wisdom of the ancients, eh :-)?

Everyone who has been on a boat in Simpson Bay knows about the reef. This was supposed o have been a well knon yachtsman. Does he not know how to read a chart?
