Very few cross the line...sad.

The rest transform into experts and advise new wannabees. ;>)

Bill
And some make that transformation in 1 week!

I take that back, some start off as expert advisors and post "I know everything and the rest of you are idiots "advise" from the start, for the whole week they are here!

Nah, your forehead is clean as a whistle, they probably have a bad bunch of lights - probably don't even know it yet but they might cotton when you take the second one back. They are just dumb sellers of a poor production batch of lamps.

You are doing them (and the rest of us) by returning the dud ones and bringing the problem to their attention. They will have "wannabee" stamped all over themselves if they don't take the problem up with their supplier.

So we left Annapolis.

Yes, definitely one of the hardest things is actually leaving the dock. First time we went cruising, I set a date and was determined to stick to it. The day came, there were of course many things impacting our scheduled departure, we worked away until late in the night, left the dock at about 10PM, just putted down the river a couple of mines and anchored ... but WE LEFT THE DOCK!

I still do this today. Each cruising season I set a date and we go. We typically don't go far, but we leave the dock.

I suggest the same for "wannabees" -- set a date and go -- you don't need all those fancy toys you think you can't live without -- just go!

Lovely thread! Far better entertainment. Gee Maybe we need our own reality tv show. Just you, me and 30,000 of our closest friends...

As we were all wannabees at one time or another, Seems most of us are still floating and messing around in boats.

Sorry to interrupt, ya'll go on back to your fuss'in now.

Speaking of reality TV, you know how there is a million shows on about fixing peoples cars up, well why not one on fixing up old boats, Over haulin, marine style. I think would be way more interesting since there are so many more issues and systems to fix...and oh the characters and personalities we could find!

There's a much loved Television show in Canada called The Trailer Park Boys about a group of miscreant marijuana growers and their various criminal exploits. Its filmed documentary style. I was thinking a nautical version would be a lot of fun.

Re: What happens to all the wannabees?

There is a show on cable called "This Old Boat" I think. It's done in Stuart and is mostly powerboats but you can get some info about new products and repairs.
