Mossitiers and Wharram seemed to have great times with multiple ...women

As a welding inspector who doesn't weld, I'll side with Eric on this. Just because you haven't done something doesn't mean you can't have a valid point or opinion about it.

Find a different way to argue with him about this, that bordered on an ad hominem attack.

There was a guy that built and sailed a cat from Europe to Hawaii just before WW2.

Re: what a mess: zenamaran

Ok, I got it backwards.
In 1936 Eric de Bisschop built a Polynesian "double canoe" in Hawaii and sailed it home to a hero's welcome in France. He went west by Australia and Cape of Good Hope. In 1939, he published his book Kaimiloa, which was translated in English in 1940. So maybe Wharram was first across the Atlantic.

But Nathaniel Herreshoff built one of the first modern cats in 1876 and it spanked everyone on its first race. The losers protested and cats were banned from just about all races for the next 100 years or so.

There is a really long thread on Boatdesign titled Historical Multihulls and cats go way back and I'm not just talking about the Polynesians.

OMG I just figured it out:

Cat=pussy

Mono=single

It all makes sense now!

If I knew how to make the popcorn thing I'd stick one right about here.

Apparently Wharram was a big fan of Eric de Bisschop. Check this out from Wharrams site.

Ironic. Your first post on this forum is a slam on someone else. Just wait for it, your karma will come around too.

Mind you it shows how the " net" can come back to haunt you. No blogs for me
