well here's a problem that I may never have.

From our dear friends at the Onion....."PALO ALTO, CA—Explaining how economic conditions were drastically altering citizens’ behavior and spending patterns, a report released Wednesday by researchers at Stanford Business School revealed that rising income inequality was causing more wealthy Americans to take on a second sailboat."

Read all about it here. http://www.theonion.com/article/risi...mericans-37652

Enjoy!

As they say "What is the fastest way to become a millionaire?" "Find a billion dollars and get into boating".

Actually, there's more than one member here who has a boat in each of two separate locations.... Hmmm.

When I get my next million I'm going to buy a whole marina full of classics to restore! Hmmm, make that a billion and half a marina.

I know of at least a few two boat owners, some with pretty nice boats (Well too me anyway).

I tend to feel that most CF folks get all their masochistic issues relieved, with just a single boat.

Oh well, as boat owners, we know that their money is not sitting in some dark vault getting moldy...

OK, feeling a little better here! I just thought it was an addiction I was suffering from. Now I see that I was forced into having two (OK, technically 3 if you include the Tandem Island) sailboats! We briefly thought of selling the Seaward but our AZ friends vetoed the idea.

As one of our luminaries observes:

"I spent most of my money on boats, booze, and broads; the rest, I wasted."

In classic Onion fashion, this satire is almost too subtle. If, instead of "second sailboat", they'd said McMansion or Big Catamaran, there would be no joke.

Guilty admission: if I had the cash I'd not buy a second sailboat, I'd get a Cigarette boat.

The Onion is satire. The major networks are fake news and Op-eds in the US. Left and right.

Pity Sean Spenser (The Donald's press secretary) did not know the onion was Satire when he quoted it. So so Priceless.

Still i find being a one boat owner quite rewarding.

Re: well here's a problem that I may never have.

Anne;
Many thanks for sharing the Onion piece...have forwarded to my spouse in hopes of leveraging its content into buying a 2nd boat...maybe that tug that she's been advocating for....Me, I will stick with my classic mono. Hence the need for 2!
