Volvo MD 11C

I have a Volvo Penta MD11C and I have to either rebuild it for 4k or replace it. I can purchase a MD 11D and want to know if that'll work with my 110S saildrive? Will it also work in my present set up in my 77 Aloha 34 ft sailboat. Thanks

The price for rebuilt seems really high , I was quoted 4000 euro for a brand new Volvo penta in canaries with new gearbox .

Usually rebuilds in Greece at least never go over 1000 euros for bigger engines , maybe you check with a different mechanic ? A small 2 cylinder engine rebuild shouldn't cost so much .

Now about the options you have ... A good rebuild engine is almost like new and it will save you from.the trouble the used one might have .

P.s those engines are so easy to rebuild they can be rebuild without pulling the block of the boat .(depends.on your damage )
