WE sailed the Black Sea - all the way around and sailed past this port. All we can say is sheltered port is a bit of an issue. We saw huge breakwaters broken. When the Black Sea gets bad it really gets bad. At almost every port we heard "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE! THE BLACK SEA IS CALLED BLACK ON PURPOSE" -
It really is a grave yard of ships and it does not matter the size.


We sat through a couple of minor storms there and would never want to see a big one. Very sad about this.
