Trebuchet on Board

I was going to bring my trebuchet on board when I go cruising. This is only for self protection and I promise not to attack any city states. So has anyone done this and are they tightly regulated by other countries?

I'd go with a cannon, more nautical, you can claim it just came with the boat.

Is a cannon a firearm? Or just armament?

I think you should be good to go. You shouldn't have any problems passing the customs/immigration check-in:
-Do you have any firearms on board? --No.
-Do you have any knives or personal weapons on board? --No.
-Do you have any items on this list of prohibited items on board? --No.

As long as they don't ask, "Do you have any siege equipment on board?" you should be good.

I'm thinking outside the box here, so if I bought a used submarine and it had a few leftover torpedoes on board then that would be OK too?
It's not a firearm because my arm can't lift the dang thing.

what do you plan on using as ammunition? where will you store the 'rounds'? how many 'rounds' are you going to carry? How accurate do you think it will be? Is this on your 16' kayak?

Obviously you would use the ammunition around you. There are plenty of giant tiger sharks always close by. Launch them at the pirates;-)

You have to completely break down most of your rigging to construct one, but with knowledge of shears you should be fine.

Hey Bobber,

As it happens a neighbor kid built one using my old windsurfer mast. It worked great, so I think you're on the right track. He's now got a PHD and designs robots.
