Transporting Sailboat From Lake Erie To Chesapeake Bay

We're taking the plunge and moving on our Islander 36 sailboat next summer, Escape III. We will be doing our last trip thru the Great Lakes then to the Chesapeake Bay and south by fall.

We want to skip the canals and transport Escape III over land from Eastern Lake Erie to Northern Chesapeake Bay. Any advise on marinas to use and transport companies.

We've never done this and looking for any advise. This is my first post so I hope I did it right.

I'm not sure I have advice to give except that as a former Lake Michigan sailor, now in Baltimore/Chesapeake, I love it here. The season is so much longer (it's early November and we plan to go out next week to daysail) and no annual haul out/sit on the hard. Dockage and marinas are easy to find with a range of prices/services. Welcome to the Chesapeake!
