The Great Loop

After posting about living in the Hilton Head area im thinking now about using my profits from the sale of my home to buy a trawler and doing the great loop. We own our sailboat and she can sit for a year while we do this
What is the likely hood of us reselling. The trawler after a year of doing the great loop and any other gifts of wisdom is welcome
We have an additional home that is rented out that will be waiting for our return

Re: The Great Loop

It all depends on what kind of trawler you are considering. The market is FLOODED with 20+ year old trawlers from 40-100K...

What size range, age, options, budget, etc etc you are looking at?

A lot of Loop ready boats in the classified section of the above site. Trawlers under 100k and 40' tend to sell faster than those above if quicker resale at the end of the trip is important.

Just about any production powerboat you can think of is capable of the trip. Watch your air draft as some places require under 20' if I recall properly.

Good luck with your plans.
