Sandetti light vessel showing 45Kts a little while ago. Pressure levelled of at 997mB here in Kent so might not be so bad.

Yes based on what I'm hearing from my friends in Normandy , it seems to have hit there bad so looks like it has dipped south and the uK mightn't get hit quite as bad as expected

Stay safe everyone.
It looks like the worst is over for most locations, but still not a nice weather map.

Re: Storm sweeping through Southern Uk, Northern France this sunday/monday
Seems to be dying down now, lots of branches and leaves on the roads this morning, but the not a cloud in the sky, the sun is shinning brightly and it would be a good day for a sail going down to the boat this afternoon to see what happened.

Re: Storm sweeping through Southern Uk, Northern France this sunday/monday
Bramblemet is showing a maximum gust of 60 knots:
BRAMBLEMET - Weather Reports from Bramble Bank
That's not out in the Channel; that's in the relatively protected waters of the Solent.
Average wind speeds breaking 40 knots only briefly. I bet there are people out sailing in the Solent! With storm sails would be manageable as there is not enough fetch in the Solent for a really dangerous sea state to develop.
But out in the Channel would be suicide! I do hope no one is out there!!

Well they are mad if they are, it's been forecast for over three days! it's the volunteers of the RNLI that will risk there lives for them.
