Storm Clouds and Lightning - Monsoon 2 video

Here is an amazing video showing time lapse scenes of clouds and rain and lightning across the sky and landscape. Beautiful!

While this was filmed over a desert, a sailor can the same type of storm cells while at sea. The shapes, movement, and lightning are fascinating to watch as the time lapse filming shows how they change.

This video is 4K and I am sure it would be really nice to view this on a large high def monitor or flatscreen TV. I enjoyed it on my iPad.

Re: Storm Clouds and Lightning - Monsoon 2 video

Impressive monsoon footage.

I regularly fly in small twin engine aircraft to work in the three month monsoon season here in Arizona. Lots of impressive microbursts, big time lightning, and sandstorms to boot. The disturbances tend to be localized, and we spend time flying around the worse cumulonimbus clouds making getting to and from work more challenging. Microbursts and hail cause lots of damage in Arizona.

Surprisingly, there fierce thunderstorms are not associated with tornadoes which makes me very happy.

When we sailed around the world, we never had weather like the monsoon here in Arizona. We dodged a few cumulonimbus clouds every now and then, but nothing like we do when flying in monsoon in Arizona.
