Smokey 2 stroke

Hi all , today I bought a 2nd hand 9.9 mercury outboard 2 stroke ,
The seller said its a bit Smokey because he added to much oil . ( very Smokey white in colour)
Could it be anything else ? Thanks In advance Giancarlo

Re: Smokey 2 stroke

Run it with new fuel with the correct oil mix and see what happens after you run it for 1/2 hour.

Re: Smokey 2 stroke

As I see it that's about the only way it can smoke. If it were getting any amount of water in the cylinders it most likely would not run
