Shallow draft

Hello all. I have been extensively researching all types of sailboats to include Catamarnas for a future purchase. My wife and I plan to live aboard and sail extensively in the Caribbean for a few years with the posibility of making a passege to the South Pacific. I am curious about shallow draft boats like the Allures and the Southerly. Any opinions?

Re: Shallow draft

THere is a couple who produce good travel videos while cruising on their Southerly 42.

Here is a link to one such video:

Re: Shallow draft

We've got friends with an Allures. Draws 1 m. with the board up. Nice boat, imo. Presently in New Caledonia. Will be returning to Oz "soon," within a month, I guess.

Big cubanito, if you really want the input, set a calendar to remind you to PM me, and after they're back, I can try to get his CF handle to you and you can PM him any specific questions.

Ann

Re: Shallow draft

These folks have a Boreal 44' for sale, & a blog RC Louise | unvarnished Though the boat won't stick around long.
