I'm sorry to hear about Bob and his wife and their struggles, Howe ver as a newbie, I have to thank Bob and Woody for introducing me to a lifestyle and a dream that had never crossed my mind. It was his show I stumbled across one morning that made me start thinking that in a few short years I can do anything I want. Sailing is something I have never done (yet) but plan on doing very soon. It is the draw of the serenity that comes with hard work, a sacrifice, and a willingness to try something new that drives me to learn more about the lifestyle of sailing, and for that I have Bob Bitchin to thank!!! Best wishes to you and yours Bob! You are a great influence!!!

When it's ten degrees here, with snow and ice, I'm nine hours from the nearest coastline and I'm helping my mother bathe my father, it's Margaritaville on the stereo, Bob Bitchin's mag and the pirate sticker on the mirror that help me remember that cutting the docklines one day is a PLAN not a dream. So try to remember what it was that fueled your dreams, and quit pissin' on other people's just cause they ain't yours.
Yay!!!

I agree Boatman, I have yet to figured out any of woodie's posts. If you get a chance Boatman, pick up a copy of Lats and Arts I think you would enjoy it even though you may not like it....

Here's a taste. Apparently it's now called Lats and Atts Seafaring.

Online Yacht Magazine – Sailing Magazines | Seafaring

And the TV show-

I think they have most episodes on Youtube.

I'm with coastal cowboy. Man quits biking, goes sailing, starts seat of pants sailing rag, makes it successful, sells mag, goes sailing! Sounds like every sailors dream/:-). P.S. bought the first edition, started cruising in 2004 full time, and give him the credit for trying this lifestyle. Some of us don't belong to Yacht Clubs

I like the mag. Why wouldn't I? It's fun and has some good pics in it and it's lighthearted. Anybody that has negative feelings for it... Well why?

It is what it is. No biggie. It's for dreamers. Like me!

Re: Sale of 'Latitudes and Attitudes' Magazine

wheather you like the magazine or not, I guess everybody is right (often so, when ppl disagree, there's a truth in both opinions) ...

to me L&A means/meant a lot, because I did my delivery from Sweden to Annapolis thanks to the L&A forum ... been to Miami and St Pete's boat shows, L&A party in Stuart, all while living on Curaçao ...

what was will not always be, things change, ppl change, disappear etc. ...

the magazine changed over the years, I don't buy it anymore, I don't like the "kewl" thing either and I'm not even American ...

as long as L&A has it's forum, I'll play there and if it ever disappears:
so be it ...

I've seen favourite bars and restaurants close, old friends are gone, new friends are coming, everything changes (for better or for worse) ...

now L&A is sold, so what?? ...
like it or not ...

back to boat chores, I'm boatsitting, the sun is shining, nice breeze to keep the wind gen working, it's 30C ...
have a great day all,
warm greetz from Curacao,
