Recent Delos Update Video

Anyone see this one yet? I hope the wheels arent coming off the bus. Josje is leaving the group along with two others with family issues. Electricity system is working sort-of, and the plumbing system has issues. Drone camera gimbal broke. Also, if you look around in their shots, the boat looks like it needs some general work as well and they have crap everywhere.

As one of the better video series I watch, I hope they can get it together and back on track.

If you follow their blog, you'd realize that the videos lag real time by quite a span.

Josje left back in November 2015:

Rama Bound – By Josje

Delos is still sailing. When they got to South Africa they decided to make another pass through the Indian Ocean. They just arrived in Durban, after a passage from Madegascar:

Recent Delos Update Video

Knowing the core Delos tribe personally, these guys have been thru a lot worse than this and have succeeded, survived and its just added to their fantastic adventure. They've had numerous crew changes thru their years and Im sure more will follow.

I'm hoping Josje succeeds in her new ventures.

Good to know that you know them personally. Could you please ask them not to put people on toilet shots (or not on toilets)in videos. it kind of ruins the mood for me at least

Sounds like situation normal for a long distance cruising boat

I think I read about them in the WSJ and NYT last week. They make 5 BU a video a month. If they're using material from a year ago, I doubt they're in any real distress if the proceeds go to the boat and isn't distributed amongst all the crew.

Re: Recent Delos Update Video

Glad that its all good w/ the delos crew and I guess I should have checked out the blog before posting.

I have to admit that I am about #48 starting from the beginning of the episodes, and when I saw the episode just posted a week ago titled not always sunshine, I skipped ahead. When I skipped ahead, the crew was different, and the boat looked terrible and it seemed the dynamics I was use to had changed.

Me and the Mrs are in our mid (her) to late (me) 40's and looking to cruise and retire in the next 3-5+ years if things work out when the kids leave home and head to college.

She wants to go trawler/power boat path and I'm pushing the sailboat path. The difference is being able to start in 3 years vs 10 years, lol...

Appreciate all the one who go before me and tell the story of what they do!! One day I hope to meet up wherever that may be out on the water! !
