Puget Sound Moorage

Greetings all, this is a callout to my Salish Sea swabbies.

I’m losing my long term sublet slip and have called from Blaine to Olympia and everyone is running waitlists. It’s not practical (or affordable) to pay deposits on every list.

Does anyone know of -literally - anything free? I’ve been poking around the sound for decades and never seen it so bleak for a place to tie up.

Thanks much, LB

I'm surprised Blaine doesn't have space more so over at Semiahmoo. It was near empty last time i was there (3 years approx), and half the boats that were there looked abandoned. Nice marina though, cant judge by the boats in the harbor.

Blaine is full as it’s the waiting room for Bellingham now, yikes.

You tried semiahmoo as well? Blaine is a different harbour but only 200’ apart.

Pleasant Harbor in Brinnon Washinton.

Two marinas. The one to the North is likely full. The larger one, to the South, was overbuilt and has never been at full capacity.

Try Tyee Marina in Tacoma. Empty slips are visible from my slip. Not the fanciest marina - well that is an understatement - the breakwater consists of sunken ships and a section of the old Evergreen Point floating bridge. But the docks are docks, everything works, it is closer to open water than anything else in Tacoma and the rates go with the general condition of the marina.
