Password for Furuno FM-2721

Hi everybody. I'm completely new in this forum, sorry for making mistakes.
I'm needing the password for the "protected" menu of the VHF Radio FM-2721 and the way how to type it in.
I bought a second hand vessel and have to change the mmsi.
The hardware setting is done, "protect" appears in the system menu but I don't know witch and how the password to type in.
Is there anyone who knows it?
Many thanks

p.s. I know that this can be done by dealers. But I'm hating this kind of money making.

Anyone who thinks they may have a use for these instructions should download or print them now, before Furuno secures or removes them. This link will not last for ever.

Note:
“These Instructions are intended for Furuno authorized Agents and Dealers ONLY!
These Instructions should not be released to the operator or owner of the equipment.”

Re: Password for Furuno FM-2721

Thanks to all for your help. Here is the complete instruction:

FURUNO FM 2721 Change of System Settings

1) Short-circuit between #10 and #22 of the port [REMOTE 2].
(You have to look very closely, then you'll find the tiny numbers)
(Count (female plug) starts at the upper line of pins (the longer one) on the right side.)
2) Turn on the power, and press [Setup] key, then Setup menu appears.
3) Choose “System” by the cursor key, and press [Enter] key, then System menu, with “Protect” added, appears.
4) Choose “Protect” by the cursor key, enter password: 652111, choose “OFF”, and press [Enter] key, then [Protect OFF] is set, and all items on system menu are allowed for setting now.
5) Choose a setting item by the cursor key, and press [Enter] key, then setting values of the item appear. Choose a setting value by the cursor key and press [Enter] key. To enter a numeric value such as MMSI input, use numeric keys, and press [Enter] key.
6) When setting is finished, turn off the power to recover normal operation.

Just one more way that some companies hold their customers for ransom?

Re: Password for Furuno FM-2721

I read the post on changing my MMSI number on my Furuno FM-2721. However, from the instructions below I am lost on the first step #10 and #22??

It seems all I have is a handheld radio receiver --- can you please explain this step more clearly?

Your hand set should be connected to a base station, the back of which will look like this

The two large ports are labeled Remote 1 and Remote 2.

On the Remote 2 port, you need to short out Pin Connection 10 and Pin Connection 22

If you look very closely at the port, using a magnifying glass, you should be able to make out the numbers.
A small paper clip can be used to short the connections.

For your interest, 652111 is part of the telephone number for the Furuno head office.
