On one hand I'd not like to advertise what I'm about to do. Take off and cruise. On the other hand, there's always talk of enticing people into our life. We do have a large and colorful community, so I decided to share with you. I have a half baked idea to just share the forum site to them. But I won't. I can't offer up my story yet because I haven't started. I hope so many of the long time regulars will write though.

Absolutely true. But then again, how many sailors make "real" income by just writing an article? For some it might draw traffic to their blogs, ebooks, etc. Marketing today is very different. Give away content, get clicks and traffic to your site. Write an article for a sailing rag, you get a niche audience and a small check. Write a free article for an international news organization? How much more traffic would you generate? Hell! Politicians do very well just keeping their name out in the media by saying and acting outlandish, they don't have to spend much on advertising!
