There was a
Great Lakes boat "Silverheels" that was launched as a yacht, converted to a freighter carrying cement in the
Bahamas, then converted back to a yacht, and moved back to
Canada (Toronto area). She was found to have some
rot in her
keel one
winter, and was broken up instead of being repaired... It was about the mid to late 60's. LOL, I know not the same "Silverheels", but the story brought back a memory of a tale told me by an owner that I was delivering a boat for (a 39' Ditchburn built for John Henry Molson in 1939).... Which is another cool old boat I had the pleasure of skippering. (Picture Below)
