Looking for a Hand in Miami

Hello everyone. I recently purchased a boat overseas and, to make a long story short, it was supposed to come with a transom bench (see attached similar boat for reference, red arrow pointing at bench), but they couldn't find it. They located one in Miami at a dealer, but I need some help getting it packaged up and mailed to NY (ABF Freight or Estes or similar, not sure if the UPS store handles items this big).

Anyone in the Miami area willing to lend a hand?

Thank you!

Hi Sven,
Just curious, why can't the dealer you're buying it from ship it to you, and add the shipping charges onto the bill?

Re: Looking for a Hand in Miami

Long story, I bought the boat overseas. I'm not buying the transom bench, the broker worked that out with the dealer in Miami. The deal we struck was I pay the shipping, but the dealer down there is quite busy and hasn't really been able to get the thing in the mail.

Re: Looking for a Hand in Miami

I recently spoke with a UPS driver who informed me that UPS is the only one to carry large packages. Recently, he delivered a bed mattress. FedEX doesn't handle large stuff anymore.

Re: Looking for a Hand in Miami

My UPS store will go get the large item, package it, and ship it common carrier if
necessary. I suggest contact a UPS Store (not UPS itself) close to the item if they will do that. If they won't then ask them if some other UPS Store will do it. Describe the approximate size of the item.

Re: Looking for a Hand in Miami

I am driving to Del Ray Beach tomorrow (Friday, 12/7) Saturday morning I drive to Marathon where my boat is. I might be able to help you. E-mail the particulars, where, etc. and I might be able to help you out.

I got this sorted out, is there anyone down there who can bring the thing to the nearest UPS store?
