I like it! It evokes an emotional response in anyone who reads it. Definitely a memorable name too.

Snort,
I have to thank you for pointing out what was right under my nose.
I will be serioussly considering using endoftheroad.

endoftheroad is sort of an experience related to me moving to key west about 12 or 14 years ago. Sorry but the first couple years I can't remember therefore I can't pinpoint when I moved here.

Any name you like. Meriwether Lewis should be remembered for what he and Clark did and not how he died. A little change could be nice "Merry Weather" but whatever you name a boat should reflect you and the boat's personality.

kind regards,

Make sure the name can be spoken and understood on the radio. Otherwise you're free to call it what you like except profanities.

You're also not allowed to name your boat after any member of the royal family in Commonwealth nations.

I didn't know that about the Royal Family. Interesting.

Well, this one appears to be registered in Oz...

And although Queen Mary did pop her clogs quite a few years ago the larger QM was built when she was alive.

It was, maybe still is, the case that two ships on the full British register couldn't share the same name.

If having a corny boat name was a crime, jail's would be full of boat owners.

I'm also a fan of Lewis and Clark and always thought the name "Undaunted" was a good one. It's of course taken from the title of Steven Ambrose's book about their expedition.

Boyz II Men fan? Bad breakup? The song is used as a 'Last Song' before a radio station changes genres... set a record for 'Longevity'... a subsequent release was 'One Sweet Day'... it was on the 'Boomerang' album... 'Full Circle' was another album... it's a 'Harmony.' End Of The Road is a little long for a name, and might sound melancholy to people not familiar with the song. Heck, the song itself is melancholy...

Yes, Seven Seas is corny. It makes most people think of salad dressing.

Hahaha.....why did you have to say that? I didn't think of the salad dressing, it's cheap garbage stuff. You killed it for me!
Thanks

Re: Is "Seven Seas" a corny sailboat name?

This is funny,
I asked the forum about Seven Seas.
I wasn't sure, the past 3 years I've mostly thought against it.
At the start of this thread I got encouragement from members to use the name.
And now from the last few posts I have to think about that cheap salad dressing.

It's interesting, I had to publicly ask for opinions and risk slaying the name.
I asked for opinions and I got what I asked for.
Had I not asked for opinions there would have been some out there thinking to themselves about making a salad and I would have never known about it.

I thought so also but if you draw the name together in a font like this it could work just fine.
This is from Boat US online vinyl lettering designing.
