Is anyone else getting Amazon pop-ups adware

I have a Sony phone and only on this site do I get a Amazon pop-ups constantly trying to redirect. The websites displays a Congratulations Amazon User, you have (1) Amazon Gift reserved! ad.
My thought.
Then it is possible that I have an adware program installed on my phone. I run McAfee all the time.
Or this site has some adware imbedded into the ad banners.
Or similar.

Question anyone else with a Android phone seeing the pop-ups? I don't get them on the laptop.

I've had them appear, using an iPad Pro. Just the last few days.

I have an Android and never see ads on CF.

Try downloading "Malwarebytes". McAfee doesn't pick up on many pop-up programs and "adware".

I have a lot of "bloatware" that comes factory installed on my Motorola Droid Turbo (Verizon) which I have no use for - but don't seem to cause problems.

If you clear your cache and delete your cookies it should go away.

With all due respect that is a cop-out to avoid dealing with poor coding. You can do some truly horrible things with vBulletin skins.

Deleting cookies means either hours sifting through cookies to find the ones for CF (not all of which are clear due to ad servers) or logging back into what may be hundreds of better behaved web sites. Bad cookies are a coding problem.

Cache issues also indicate poor configuration and coding.

I know the mods aren't admins but the admins and tech team need to be held to account. Mods are the users conduit. Don't fall into the trap of assuming user action is appropriate to deal with site tech problems.

Yes frequently on my Samsung Tablet, only on this site.

First go to the subforum you want to use to post a new topic.
These can be seen by clicking on the Forums tab link in the top menu bar.

Select the appropriate forum, such as "General Classifieds, (no boats)l"

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f64/

Then click the "New Thread" button link seen in that forum's menu bar. I see it in the top left quarter of my screen view. On my iPad browser, it appears as a lozenge shaped button.

Also, if selling, I would select "instant email notification" for subscription method to that topic, so you are notified when you get a response. This is automatic for thtreads or topics you start or post in, unless you change your notification frequency.

I hope that helps.

Re: Is anyone else getting Amazon pop-ups adware

Those pop-ups are definitely scam-ware, NOT Amazon pop-ups. Look at them carefully, they are some jokers who will try to get your personal information and then spam you mercilessly all for the promise of maybe sending you a gift card. They do that while pretending to be Amazon, or WalMart, or a dozen other companies--none of whom know anything about these scams.

To be safe you need to block pop-ups, block ActiveX, block JavaScript, block Java, block 3rd-party cross-site linking....all sorts of things that also mean you will be disabling some poorly implemented but common legitimate web site features, here and elsewhere.

The pop-ups are probably coming in because the forum is probably accepting ads from a broker, who in turn has no idea what code is in those ads (they can change after they've been booked) so no one really has any control over what shows up. Except you, who can disable all that stuff, and accept the collateral damage. (Which isn't much.)

Once and only on a tablet. Closed it immediately, deleted the browser from RAM and ran a cleaner. None sense....
