At the risk of interrupting further tales of the tantalizing bedroom adventures (or mis-adventures?!) of Mrs B and BandB, does anyone know where custom mattresses can be made Down Under, in OZ?

Re: Important things we don't talk about much
If you have a standard (home) sized bed you have lots of options. Mine have curved and tapered sides and a square cutout where you get into the bed after stepping up. They have to be custom made and of course there are two mirror images. I did get to test out the foam but of course they wouldn't let me spend the night in the showroom.

Is there such a thing on a vessel? In any event, ours certainly is not!

I hate buying the first mattress of any type. Find myself very worried it will be disappointing. Actually bought some years ago from Costco just because of their return policy. I've never yet needed to return one but always worried about spending that money and then not liking how it sleeps. I do know one of the hotel chains once was advertising their new luxury comfort beds and I stayed there and couldn't stand that new mattress. I don't want the softest, plushest, hardest or any "est". Just want a good sleeping, moderately firm, mattress. And don't want a microfiber material involved that heats things. Cool is even more important on a boat. We're both warmed nature and we never use a comforter or a quilt.

Yes, I can find out for you. There's an outfit in Warriewood, near Mona Vale, and I can get the details. We went to see them. Out of our price bracket, but YMMV.
If you're interested, send me a PM, and I'll get on it.
Ann

Re: Important things we don't talk about much
Hate to interupt all this pillow talk, but I really like our fishing pole mount/tube. The kids fish underway and have caught a fish or two. They love it.
Actually we never fish. Instead, as I remind them, we play a game called "don't pop the dinghy".
Regards,
Brad

Re: Important things we don't talk about much
I’m an insomniac not only will I spend a grand on a mattress I have a 300 dollar pillow, I will do anything for a good night’s sleep, but I have to say memory foam is amazing stuff if you buy the good thick stuff. I live on my boat and when I’m not there I work in a camp and have an expensive pillow at both places and memory foam is my top layer. I do what I can to get some good sleep, and couldn’t care less about the expensive car.

Wifey B: You spend 1/3 of your entire life in bed and some more and at least a good portion of that is sleeping or trying to sleep...
But whatever you're doing a quality mattress is just so very important. We always had what I'd call good mattresses, but then we got great ones and we could never go back to the good ones.
Now, my thinking hubby did just ask if you'd had a sleep study cause we've sure known them to help a lot of friends. I'm assuming you have but he said I had to bring it up.
Typed while on a comfy mattress...not yet sleeping though

If the crew requests steamed milk, that takes longer and more power. I feel the power and space it consumes is well worth it for the improved disposition of captain and crew alike.

I recently purchased a Bialetti espresso unit and was surprised at its efficacy. It is almost as good as my La Pavoni Europiccola. Just can't do my cappacino. I may have to take it to the boat when we start cruising.

Oh man...
I almost missed all this (mattress) pillow talk... Priceless... and an appearance from crabby too!
