Re: Important things we don't talk about much

While in Mexico we met a couple who had arrived in that year's Ha Ha.
It had only been two months or so and they were already planning to head back to their hometown of San Diego.
When asked why, they fondly spoke of their morning walk to Starbucks for Latte's and the sounds of the city.

Diffferent strokes, I guess.

Re: Important things we don't talk about much

OK... so I'm posting this a little late in the thread, but I have to say, myself having a ten year plan, that a good mattress is a very nice thing, indeed!

It did cost more than 1 Boat Unit, but less than 2...

And... For the best, fastest, easiest coffee & espresso strength coffee...
it has to be: The Aerobie AeroPress AeroPress® | AEROBIE® High Performance Sport Toys

But I do think I will sign up for the Turkish coffee, too!

Cheers!

Re: Important things we don't talk about much

I think some new cruisers confuse cruising with cruise ships. But it just doesn't work out that way unless you're a multi-millionaire.

I haven't read a post on this thread here that confuses cruise ships with cruising... I think those who don't wish to go in small boats across large oceans... can sign up for that

As for meself... I solo cruised all over the SoCal coast - from the Channel Islands & Point Conception to Ensenada MX in a 23 ft sailboat with a British Seagull engine (only used to get in & out of ports) no auto pilot, no radar, no AIS, no refrigerator & no headroom... just a compass & a chart

now a few years later I will sleep better with a good mattress and no 40k suv...

Cheers!

Re: Important things we don't talk about much

unless ye meant those lazy slugs who answered my ads when i was in ensenada...i had a few folks who wanted to go on boatride to panama without lifting finger or standing watch....could be those folks.....

How about a sign for Americans.

There are other countries out there, the earth isn't flat and the natives are friendly

What do you want to hear.. there is only six countries england has never invaded. All the EU countries want to destroy each other.
Actually after three years of cruising Europe my own thoughts have changed.
Most people are the same and we all want to get on and enjoy each others company. It is politicians that create borders so they feel important.
Getting on and having fun is far more important!
